As the Euro 2016 qualifiers continue, Coral have a superb special, featuring both Wayne Rooney and Diego Costa at a fabulous 5/2 to score anytime. Read on to find out why this is such sensational selection!
England captain Rooney equalled Sir Bobby Charlton’s record in the Three Lions’ 6-0 win over San Marino, converting a penalty to get the scoring underway. He is odds-on at 4/5 to score anytime in the individual match markets and was on the scoresheet the last time England played at Wembley, breaking the deadlock in their 4-0 win over Lithuania.
Roy Hodgson has urged Rooney to get the record against Switzerland. “We’re quite happy that he might now get the actual record itself at Wembley on Tuesday night,” said the England boss.
“I know that he’s going to be very motivated to get that record and I think in some ways that would be a nicer way of getting the record than if I’d kept him on a bit longer.
“We’d planned that 45 minutes – possibly 60 – would be the most we wanted Wayne to play so it wasn’t anything spontaneous, it was a planned reaction [to take him off].”
Costa, meanwhile has a plethora of quality support players around him in this Spain squad, to lay goals on for him, and with David Silva, Pedro Rodriguez, Koke and Isco all capable of creating space for him, and Jordi Alba also marauding down the left from full back, his pinpoint deliveries are an attractive prospect for Costa to latch onto.
Following a prolific season in the Premier League, Costa has proven he is a goal machine, capable of scoring in numerous ways, whether it be the spectacular, one-on-one, left foot, right foot, acrobatically, or via his head, FYR Macedonia’s defence will certainly have their work cut out, containing Costa who will be raring to go.
