Friday’s virtual horse racing
SANDS OF MALI (4/1) was a surprise winner of the Gimcrack in 2017, but proved that win was no fluke when a three-time winner as a three-year-old. He finished second in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, before returning to the Berkshire track to take the British Champions Sprint in the autumn.
ASTAIRE (11/2) won both the Gimcrack and Middle Park for Kevin Ryan in 2013 and could give the favourite most to think about, while SHOWCASING (9/2) is another track-and-trip winner to take seriously.
DREAM OF DREAMS (5/1) finally achieved the Royal Ascot victory he had been craving when landing the 2021 Diamond Jubilee Stakes and having won the Hungerford in 2020, there is few doubts about the gelding’s stamina.
MASSAAT’s (6/1) sole Group victory came in the 2017 Hungerford, but he has to be respected, while BRETON ROCK (16/1) is a 7f specialist who has some useful form at this venue and could provide the most value for each-way backers.
PAPAL BULL (5/1) never won a Group One in his career and looks somewhat a weak favourite in virtual horse racing.
Therefore, it may be wise to side with the 2005 St Leger winner SCORPION (10/1) or David Elsworth’s NORSE DANCER (12/1), who both look to offer plenty of value.
14.30 – King George Stakes, Goodwood
BORDERLESCOTT (9/2) would be an extremely popular winner in virtual horse racing and the durable sprinter, who was twice a winner of the Nunthorpe, rates as the one to beat.
COOL JAZZ (10/1) and ORNATE (14/1) are blessed with plenty of speed and are others to consider at bigger prices.

2008 St Leger winner CONDUIT (5/1) looks the one to beat in this Coral Legends event and Sir Michael Stoute’s versatile performer was twice a winner at the Breeders’ Cup, as well as winning a King George VI Stakes at Ascot.
He is preferred to three-time Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe runner-up YOUMZAIN (7/1) and 2002 St Leger winner BOLLIN ERIC (9/1). That duo can fight it out for the minor money.
AMADEUS WOLF (7/2) won both the Gimcrack and Middle Park in 2005 and this classy sprinter would be a popular winner in virtual horse racing for Kevin Ryan.
His nearest challengers look to be 2019 Gimcrack runner-up LORD OF THE LODGE (9/2) and STAXTON (6/1), who is a likeable sprinter from Tim Easterby’s stable.
