Updated odds: When will Chelsea win the Premier League title?

Chelsea need two more wins to guarantee themselves the Premier League title, which they are overwhelmingly odds-on at 1/1000 with Coral to win, as they now enjoy a 10-point lead over Arsenal and Manchester City.

Their recent draw against Arsenal at the Emirates means the now have to beat Leicester City away in midweek, a team in the ascendancy, after winning their last four, but also in a relegation dogfight, and then follow that up with a victory at home over Crystal Palace four days later. Easier said than done.

To secure the title against what is likely to be a bullish Eagles side under Alan Pardew, they are odds-on at 4/9. With no recognised striker 100 per cent fit, however, Jose Mourinho will need Eden Hazard on top form, and hope he can deliver the goals over the next two games.

Should the Foxes smell blood, and it is worth noting they have already beaten Manchester United 5-3 at home this season, they could make life very difficult for the Blues.

Nigel Pearson’s men have just climbed out of the drop zone by a point with their most recent win against Burnley and they need to keep scrapping. Chelsea would be wise not to underestimate the East Midlands outfit.

If Leicester stay motivated and pinch a point or more, Pardew across in south-east London might also be in the mood to spoil the party.

Assuming, however, they pick up three points from their next two games, and other results don’t go their way, it would mean Mourinho’s men would need to beat, of all teams, Liverpool at Stamford Bridge the following weekend to guarantee the title, and are 2/1 to do so.

Imagine if Steven Gerrard’s final act for the Reds was to prevent the team who had courted him persistently throughout his career from winning the title.

Following that, Chelsea make the trip to The Hawthorns to play West Bromwich Albion, where they are 12/1 to secure Premier League glory, before returning to Stamford Bridge for the final game of the season against Sunderland. They are 66/1 to win it here.

For those who watched the Arsenal match, you could be forgiven for thinking the Blues were playing for a draw, which would mean they could win the title against Palace in front of their home fans, especially from the way captain John Terry celebrated at the end of the game. For their sake, they will be hoping this is a gamble which has paid off.
