Two winners split £25,000 jackpot on Coral’s Racing Super Series

All seven of their selections delivered in our free-to-play game

Two Coral customers shared a £25,000 windfall after correctly predicting seven horses to place on Sunday as part of Coral’s Racing Super Series free-to-play horse racing competition.

The two took home £12,500 each after being the only ones to correctly pick a placed horse in seven races at Naas, Ripon, Wexford and Stratford.

One winner, Shane O’Neill, said he was watching the races unfold and knew he had won but had no idea just how much.

“I knew watching the final race at Naas on Sunday afternoon that I just needed my selection to place to win but I didn’t know how much I would win. It was an absolutely amazing feeling to discover the full amount in my account once it had all settled and I couldn’t believe it,” said O’Neill.

“I am a big horse racing fan and always like to have a flutter when I get the chance to. I have entered the Racing Super Series as often as I have been able to since it began but this is the first time I’ve ever even got close to winning. It was really nice to get a big win from a free-to-play game, which is not often you can say that.

“I have a few things that I want to pay off with some of the winnings and then I will be keeping the rest for a little holiday when the situation allows,” he added.

The second winner, Sandra Thornhill, said she did not discover she had won until checking her account on Monday morning.

“I didn’t find out until Monday morning that I had won and I was absolutely gobsmacked to see the money in my account when I checked. I enter the competition regularly, whenever I remember to, but I never even dreamt of winning it and especially not such a huge amount,” said Thornhill.

“I was so happy and even got very emotional when I realised what I had won and I can’t even think about what I will spend it on at the moment because it is such a large amount.”

Coral’s Racing Super Series returns this weekend with another £25,000 jackpot to be won and any customer with a Coral account can enter for free via the website and the app.
