Twitter reaction to Fury-Klitschko postponement
Tyson Fury’s awaited rematch with Wladimir Klitschko has been postponed due to the current world heavyweight champion having sustained an ankle injury during his preparations for the fight, which was initially scheduled for July 9th.
The news comes just two weeks before Fury and Klitschko were set to battle it out once again at the Manchester Arena, following the Briton’s successful night in Germany last November when he dethroned the division’s former dominant force to claim the WBA Super, WBO and IBO titles.
Following the announcement, made by Fury himself online, fans, pundits and fellow fighters have reacted on Twitter to yet another postponement. So, read on to see the online reaction from around the boxing world…

Fury predictably faced an instant backlash from fans and pundits, having previously slated opponents for pulling out through injury…
Fury said he sprained his ankle about 10 days ago. Some involved in the fight say he was simply partying too much and not ready.

Tyson Fury was partying, not training, and not attempting to get ready for the rematch. I was informed last week to count on an "injury".

Injuries do happen, though…
I hurt my ankle once tripping over a pile of £50 notes I left on the floor. I feel your pain @Tyson_Fury .

Slightly ironic that Tyson Fury has to pull out with injury. Injuries do happen apparently. Not what he's said before.

Klitschko will be a gutted man after putting himself through another tough training camp. The former champion is 11/4 to knockout Fury when they do eventually meet again…
Brutal for Klitschko, who is 40 years old and just put himself through another grueling camp. Those take a toll on you. #FuryKlitschko

Fans are already sick of having to wait for fights to take place…
Maybe they will just resked #FuryKlitschko for late 2017 and it can be on the same card as #CaneloGGG!!!!! #marinate

A new date will be set soon following the postponement, but the venue will remain unchanged…
