Tuesday’s Champions League play-off tips: PSV and Benfica fancied

A place in the group stages is at stake

The first leg of the Champions League play-offs kick-off tonight, with 12 sides competing for the final six places in this year’s Group Stage.

There are three games tonight and the Coral News Team have picked out tips for all of them…

BATE Borisov v PSV Eindhoven

BATE are still the only Belarusian side to reach the Group Stage, but they’ll have their work cut out to get there this season.

Eredivisie champions PSV stand in their way. The Dutch side are 11/10 favourites to gain a first-leg advantage.

BATE’s domestic season is already in full swing though, which means they should be in better shape than the visitors. If you think there could be an upset, BATE or Draw is 3/4 in the Double Chance market.

Hirving Lozano was the Dutch side’s top scorer last season with 19 goals. After impressing at the World Cup for Mexico, he’s 4/1 to score First here. He’s 6/4 to net Anytime too.

It could be worth keeping an eye on Luuk de Jong to get on the scoresheet at 8/5 as well.

Benfica v PAOK

Benfica are chasing Champions League qualification for the ninth successive season here. They’re 4/9 to beat Greek side PAOK at home on the night.

The Portuguese side should be too strong for their opponents. It’s 5/4 that they Win to Nil and avoid giving up a crucial away goal.

Jonas is injured, which means Facundo Ferreyra should lead the line for the hosts. He’s 11/8 to hit the back of the net. It’s also 9/5 that lively winger Eduardo Salvio scores.

If PAOK are going to get anything, they’ll need a good showing from Aleksandar Prijovic. The big Serb is 3/1 to nab a goal.

Crvena Zvezda v Red Bull Salzburg

Red Bull Salzburg come into this game on the back of four straight wins in the Austrian Bundesliga. They’ve scored nine goals and only conceded once during their impressive start to the campaign.

Salzburg are 11/10 to leave Belgrade with a win. But it’s not going to be easy.

Arsenal are the only away side to win at the Rajko Mitic Stadium in the last 12 months. The Serbian side have kept eight clean sheets in their last 10 home games too. Under 2.5 Goals is going for 4/7.

Munas Dabbur leads the goalscorer markets. The Salzburg forward is 13/10 to open the scoring.

The home team will be looking to Ben Nabouhane to provide a goal threat. He’s a 5/2 shot to get a goal.
