Our five best from tonight’s action

The domestic football season may have come to a close, but there’s enough to keep followers of the beautiful game interested in midweek.

The return of the World Cup qualifiers at the weekend dominate our thinking, with Scotland vs England at Hampden a particular highlight, but there’s a decent round of friendlies to get through on Tuesday, as managers look to apply the finishing touches to their teams. We spin through the games of note and return with a five-fold, aimed at boosting your betting balance.

Germany beat Denmark

Followers will get a decent price about the German win here, with Coral traders giving out a tempting 19/20, which is bigger than we expected it to be. Joachim Low’s crew currently sit top of Group C and already look to be on their way to the World Cup in Russia. A record of five wins from five starts has them out in front, five points ahead of nearest rivals Northern Ireland, with the race on for second. The selections have scored 20 goals already, and now target a defence who have leaked, on average, a goal a game. Germany’s price makes them well worth a punt.

Israel beat Moldova

Israel are priced like losing isn’t an option here, with our football guys keeping their cards close to their chest at 2/7, but that looks about right, and should do a job in our midweek multiple. Israel have won three of their last four, and with the spare in that run coming in a defeat to Spain, it’s easy to forgive. Moldova are, of course, winless in Group D, managing just a point from the first 15 up for grabs. This one should give the picks a reason to smile, while boosting confidence in their attack.

India beat Nepal

Two sides that won’t feature very often in our betting tips, but needs must at this time of year and we’ll take a win wherever we can get it at the moment. This will be the fourth meeting between these teams, with India boasting the best of the head-to-head stats, showing two wins and a draw from three. Nepal have, in fact, managed to score just one goal during that time, and that came back in 2005. The stats make India worth a bet at 2/7, and we’ll have a go.

Guarani beat Boa

A rare visit to the Brazilian Serie B and we put our trust in Guarani SP to do a job. The hopefuls sit in midtable, four places higher in the pecking order than Tuesday’s opponents. Boa have managed just one win in four and were beaten on their last start. Guarani take confidence from a pair of wins in their last three and that should make the difference here. 4/7 joins the pile.

Juventude beat Criciuma

Juventude are even money favourites going in to this one, and look worthy of it. They sit third in the league having played four matches, unbeaten during that time – two wins and a pair of draws. Opponents Criciuma haven’t quite had things so good, picking up just a point from the first dozen available to them, and losing three on the bounce.
