Donald Trump is now the shortest price he has ever been at 6-4 with leading bookmaker Coral to win the US presidential election following further support for the Republican candidate in the betting. Trump was as big as 150-1 when the firm first opened betting on Barack Obama’s successor, however, his odds have tumbled each month as the gamble has picked up pace.
With just months to go now until the new president is announced, Hilary Clinton remains odds-on at 1-2 to win the election, however, her odds have drifted from 1-3 this week with Coral.
“If Trump is successful in the US presidential election, it would be one of the biggest political gambles we have ever seen. His odds continue to shorten as we get closer to election day, and although Hilary Clinton remains the odds-on favourite, if the trend continues, there may be very little to separate the two candidates in the next few months,” said Coral’s John Hill.
