Trader’s Tips: Cheltenham Day One NAP

Defi Du Seuil bets and On Tour odds are among Coral's Chepstow tips for December 27 on Welsh Grand National Day.

Coral’s very own racing trader Jason Ryan gives you his NAP on Day One of the Cheltenham Festival

It can be difficult picking out your bets for the Cheltenham Festival, you’ve watched every live preview and read every tip in the Racing Post, but how do you decide on which ones to back?

We’ve made things easier for you by asking our in-house Horse Racing Trader, Jason Ryan, what his best bet of Day One is and he duly answered…

Tully East – Close Brothers Novices’ Handicap Chase (5:30)

“This horse went close to giving Alan Fleming his first Cheltenham Festival success when running a cracker in last year’s Martin Pipe Conditionals race. The son of Shantou travelled well into the straight but was sent for home too far out and ran out of gas half-way up the hill. Had he been given a more patient ride, he’d have certainly finished closer. He won well on his chasing debut and finished behind Min and a progressive horse in Ball D’Arc on his next two starts. His mark of 138, albeit 5lbs above his Irish mark, is still 2lbs lower than the mark he ran off last year which suggests he’s very well treated.”
