12.10 Cheltenham – Hereia
Hereia ran a couple of times in Ireland and won once. This is a step up in class for him but you always have to respect horses coming over from Ireland because the form there is so strong. It’s his first run for Neil Mulholland so we will find out more about him. He’s a really likeable type.
13.20 Cheltenham – Eamon An Cnoic
He’s a bit of an enigma. He has blinkers on for the first time having schooled well in them at home. I think this stiff two miles is exactly what he wants. He has to bounce back from his run last time but that was too bad to be true.
13.55 Cheltenham – Warthog
As a jockey when you’ve had the choice of two horses in a race and the one you’ve chosen doesn’t get very far and the one you’ve turned down runs a blinder, you have to then take it on the chin when the owners of the horse that ran a blinder stick with the same jockey next time he runs.
I’m the stable jockey and ride all Caroline and Brian’s horses, but I totally understand that they want to stay loyal to David Noonan. He does so much work in the yard and he’s got a good record on Warthog.
I would obviously have loved to have ridden him but I’ll be delighted to see him go and win. With the favourite now out he’s got a decent chance.
15.40 Cheltenham – Queens Cave
I think Queens Cave is my best ride of the day. I was really impressed with her when she ran around Exeter. You can give a chance to quite a few of these in this race, but I’m very sweet on my mare’s chance.
A stiff two miles four furlongs should suit her. I sat on her during the week and she felt really well, and I’m very excited about riding her.
