Coral ambassador Tom Scudamore previews his rides at Exeter on Friday

On Wednesday at Chepstow, I rode my 38th winner of the season so far. I am pleased with where I am at this stage of the campaign. I’ve just got to keep the ball rolling and hopefully, over the next few days, I can add to my tally.

I am really looking forward to riding at Exeter today (Friday, November 4). It is a place where a lot of trainers like to start their novices as it is a very fair course. You only have to look at the roll of honour of horses who have featured here in the early stages of their careers. The likes of Kauto Star, Best Mate and Bindaree all appeared there. The list goes on.

I am booked for two rides on the card at the Devon-based course.

12.40 Exeter – Siruh Du Lac

He also held an entry at Newbury yesterday in the 3.05, so if he ran there, he won’t run at Exeter. He has been a fantastic horse in the past and he is showing all the right signs at home.

Unfortunately, he has had his issues, which is why he hasn’t run since December. Hopefully, he shows us what he is capable of again on his return to action.

3.00 Exeter – Neon Moon

He has a fantastic strike rate, with four wins from 10 starts under Rules. This looks like a competitive novice chase, but he has taken to his fences well at home.

If he replicates that on the course, he will have a very good chance of starting with a chase success in this race.
