Toby Alderweireld now odds-on for Man United transfer

Tottenham defender could be on the move

Coral traders have cut the odds on Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld joining Manchester United this summer.

Alderweireld is now just 8/11 (from 11/10) after some strong support in the betting over the last 24 hours.

This comes despite the news that the clubs are said to not be interested in a swap deal for United’s Anthony Martial.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “All the indications are that, despite no swap deal being on the table for Martial, Alderweireld will be on the move this summer and that Manchester United are firmly the favourites to sign him. We now make it odds-on to happen during this transfer window.”

Tottenham are 5/2 with Coral to sign Martial, but face stiff competition from Juventus (4/1) and Chelsea (9/2) for the Frenchman’s signature.

“The Martial deal is far more complicated and at the moment it looks a three-way battle between Spurs, Chelsea and Juventus as to who will land the forward, who seems sure to leave Old Trafford in search of more first-team football,” added Aitkenhead.
