Thyme Hill 7/2 favourite for Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot

Six-year-old favourite for Ascot Grade 1 contest

Following the latest entry stage ahead of Saturday’s Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot, Thyme Hill has been placed as 7/2 favourite for victory.

The six-year-old Philip Hobbs-trained gelding leads the field, ahead of former winner Paisley Park, who is the 2/1 second favourite.

Coral’s David Stevens said: “Thyme Hill and Paisley Park are locked together as our 5/1 joint favourites for the Stayers’ Hurdle, but a clear-cut victory for either of the market leaders at Ascot on Saturday will ensure we head into 2021 with a clear frontrunner for glory in March.”

Elsewhere, Monalee has been cut to 7/1 (from 10/1) in the betting for the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase, alongside Lostintranslation. Cyrname and Clan Des Obeaux retain 2/1 favouritism.

Ahead of the Coral sponsored Welsh Grand National, Secret Reprieve has been cut again to 4/1 (from 5/1), with Springfield Fox and Truckers Lodge the nearest challengers at 10/1.
