Theo Walcott latest linked with Arsenal exit: 3 possible destinations
Published:Gunners forward could be on the move in January
Arsene Wenger looks set to continue his Emirates clearout with Theo Walcott the next likely exit.
Reports are circulating that the England international will be made available for transfer in January despite having 18 months left on his contract.
The 28-year-old has been an intermittent success in North London but ultimately has failed to consistently show his best form.
It looks like Wenger will finally cut his losses on the former Southampton prodigy.
The Coral News Team looks at three possible destinations where Walcott could thrive once again.
Everton
Despite shelling out more than £100m on new players during the summer, the Everton squad still looks a little unbalanced.
The midfield and forward-line look a little one-paced. And that’s exactly what Walcott would provide.
His pace and thrust from the flanks would provide a fantastic outlet for the Toffees who currently look too immobile to threaten most teams.
Newcastle United
Rafa Benitez was left hugely underwhelmed by the Magpies’ summer business. But the Spanish manager hung around.
His loyalty should be rewarded with a January move for Walcott. The Gunners flyer would provide the type of quality Newcastle currently lack.
With Jonjo Shelvey pulling the strings from central areas, a speedster like Walcott being slipped in behind would be just the ticket.
Borussia Dortmund
If there’s one thing the Bundesliga loves, it is pace. Germany’s elite league is a haven for counter-attacking football.
While it’s unlikely Walcott would leave England, if he did choose to broaden his horizons, Dortmund would be just the place.
His ability to go from zero to one hundred would suit a side like BVB who play full-throttle football from back-to-front.
Of the top sides in Germany, Dortmund would certainly have the capital to mount a bid.
