The Greatest Comeback: Who will be crowned as our champion?

Help us decide on the best comeback in sports history

After the enforced break, sport is now starting to make its long-awaited comeback.

We’ve never seen a situation like the last few months in the modern era, where we’ve been without so much sport for so long. And it got us thinking – what’s the greatest comeback in sporting history?

Was it Liverpool’s Champions League miracle against AC Milan? Or France’s victory against New Zealand in the 1999 Rugby World Cup? Tiger Woods at the Masters last year? Or something else entirely?

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to crown the Greatest Comeback. But we’ll need your help.

We’ve narrowed it down to a shortlist of 16 contenders, who’ll go up against each other in a knockout tournament.

It all gets started tomorrow, as Aldaniti’s 1981 Grand National win faces Ian Botham’s Ashes heroics in the same year. You’ll be able to vote for who goes through in a poll on our Twitter account.

There’ll be a new match-up every day, until we crown our champion on Wednesday 17th June – the day the Premier League kicks off again.

Who will you pick to go all the way?
