Potters face tough trip to Welsh fortress

Swansea welcome Stoke to south Wales, where they boast a formidable home record. Unbeaten at the Liberty all season, Garry Monk’s men are generous at evens with Coral for victory, having run last visitors Tottenham ragged, with just Christian Eriksen’s excellence ensuring a draw.

Mark Hughes will need a similar sprinkling of star dust to take the spoils from this scuffle with the Swans, as his Potters have been below-par this campaign, though do just rest one Premier League point below their hosts now, having bounced back with two league wins on the trot.

A draw, then, is priced at 12/5, as 20 of these two teams’ 64 previous tussles have ended evenly. Stoke have not managed to sink the Swans on their past six attempts on Welsh soil, though, so are outsiders at 3/1 to claim their first scalp at Swansea’s home since 1993.

Last time managers Monk and Mark Hughes met at the Liberty, the Welsh winners scored twice but also managed to shut out their guests, so are most tempting at 21/10 to win to nil again.

Montero to be Man of the Match?

Alternative options for that honour include Ghanaian goal machine Andre Ayew (13/2) and midfield plotter Jonjo Shelvey (12/1), who are both crucial pieces in Monk’s attacking play.

Superb odds for Swans and Stoke scorers

Buoyed by that news, Sigurdsson is a tasty 10/3 to be on target anytime, while lethal French forward Bafetimbi Gomis is even better value at 11/2 to grab the opener.

Stoke are not without their own net threats, and Republic of Ireland international Jon Walters returns from Green Army duty having also done himself proud. After hittong two in his past four appearances versus Swansea, Walters is 2/1 to poach anytime for the Potters again. While, evergreen Peter Crouch (7/1 to strike last) has come back into the fold of late and also enjoys scoring against the Welsh club.
