Survivor Series 2016 tips

Fancy some WWE betting on an annual Thanksgiving season tradition? It’s Survivor Series for the 30th consecutive year, and some of wrestling’s most shocking moments have occurred at this event.

Brock Lesnar v Goldberg odds dominate the card from Toronto, and this is the first Survivor Series held in Canada since the infamous Montreal Screwjob of 1997. What are Coral experts’ Survivor Series 2016 tips? Here are our picks…

Brock Lesnar v Goldberg odds: Back The Beast Incarnate

Fantasy warfare just got real. A tagline for this dream rematch from WrestleMania XX, but Lesnar, who lost in Madison Square Garden way back in 2004, is a strong odds-on 1/4 favourite to defeat Goldberg.

Goldberg (a 5/2 outsider to win) claiming The Beast Incarnate is not only “next”, but “last” is a huge indicator that this is his final match. Retirement bouts are rarely won by the wrestler hanging up their boots; see Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels for WWE precedent on this.

WWE betting: IC and Cruiserweight belts to trade brands

We’ll get to the traditional Survivor Series elimination matches and 10 v 10 tag team battle shortly, but first there are two titles on the line.

The Miz recently dethroned Dolph Ziggler, becoming a six-time Intercontinental champion, but The Awesome One faces a first defence in an inter-brand battle with Sami Zayn.

Former NXT champion Zayn is due a first title run on the WWE main roster, so starts as a firm 1/3 favourite to bring the IC belt over to RAW. The Miz is a 2/1 outsider to keep his championship on Smackdown.

Meanwhile, Brian Kendrick puts his Cruiserweight strap on the line against high-flying masked superstar Kalisto. During the first WWE brand extension the old belt in this weight class spent most of its days on Smackdown, so this is a real shout again.

Kalisto is a very strong odds-on 1/5 to take the title to the blue brand, with Kendrick 3/1 to retain. Side with the luchadore in this bout.

RAW look real deal in Survivor Series elimination matches

Could a clean sweep of RAW victories happen in the elimination matches? Our Survivor Series 2016 tips suggest so.

In the five-on-five men’s battle, the Smackdown quintet look more combustible despite The Undertaker’s warning on the 900th episode.

AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose will go on to battle for the WWE Championship in a TLC match come December, while Randy Orton’s feud with Bray Wyatt surely has another twist in the tale.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are both faces on RAW, and it’s more believable the former’s bad blood with Canadian duo Chris Jericho and Universal champ Kevin Owens could simmer down until after Survivor Series.

Where Smackdown have a weak link in Shane McMahon, RAW have strength in Braun Strowman, so the 8/11 on the red brand makes more sense than backing the blue at evens.

The women’s five-on-five match is split down the middle when it comes to WWE betting. Both RAW and Smackdown are 5/6 chances to win, but the big push has come on Charlotte Flair in recent months, so side with red again.

And the 10-on-10 bout looks hugely stacked in RAW’s favour too, so they’re 1/3 to defeat 2/1 chances Smackdown.
