Form shows Everton have nothing to fear
The Toffees make the trip to London on the back of a seriously impressive run of form, unbeaten in their last nine league starts, going down to Liverpool in mid-December by a 1-0 score. Since that reverse Ronald Koeman’s side have hacked their way through the rankings, winning six and drawing three. Spurs look special this season
For as impressive as Everton’s form has been this season, Spurs have gone way beyond that. The Lilywhites have won over even their harshest of critics, and go into the round with a CV showing 15 wins, eight draws and three defeats.
They were beaten by Liverpool on their penultimate start, thanks to a two-minute wonder show from Sadio Mane up at Anfield, but have won seven of their last 10, and warmed up for this with a stunning 4-0 win over Stoke at this venue.
Kane was again the man of the moment, netting his third hat-trick in nine games, moving manager Mauricio Pochettino to label the England striker as one of the best in the world at the minute. Few would argue against that stance either, certainly not on recent showings.
The 23-year-old has been behind everything good about his employers this term, and goes as the man most likely to break the deadlock again on Sunday, with 11/4 on him scoring the first goal, and only 8/13 on him hitting the net at any point.
Fans look the real winners here
Everton more than match-up to their hosts on recent form, and know just what a win here could do for their season. Unfortunately for followers of the away side, I think they come up against a Spurs who are looking special this season. They are full of goals, and tight at the back, just like Everton, but have been doing it over the course of the season, and home advantage should see them through.
Two confident sides, looking to take the game by the scruff of the neck, led by a couple of savvy managers. This has all the ingredients to be a Sunday cracker. Both teams to score and Tottenham to win is worth a play at 9/4, while a 2-1 home cheer gives an interest to those happy to push their luck.
