Southwell tips and Yarmouth best bets: Little Pop and Zeshov among those to back

There’s plenty of turf action this Tuesday with day cards at Southwell and Yarmouth. What are the worthy horse racing wagers?
Coral experts give their Southwell tips and Yarmouth best bets below…
Little Pop handicapped to strike at Southwell
Little Pop caught the eye last time out and can cash-in on a drop in the weights to land the 2m handicap hurdle on today’s card at Southwell (15:45).
This Nigel Twiston-Davies trained gelding won at the second time of asking in a bumper and has since gone on two score twice over the obstacles.
In the last of those successes at at Ffos Las 14 months ago, Little Pop made all and stayed on gamely to score by 1 length off a mark of 107.
The eight-year-old got put up to 113 for that victory and failed to shine in three subsequent outings in 2015.
However, following a 293-day break he shaped better than the bare result suggests when fifth of nine to In On The Act at Worcester last month when attempting to make all and making a couple of mistakes before being headed two from home and weakening to be beaten 9 3/4 lengths.
It was a promising effort and the assessor has been quick to drop Little Pop 3lb to 107, thus making him worthy of being among Southwell tips.
That is the same as when last successful and gives the selection major claims at the weights on the pick of his form.
Kamool to kick rivals into touch
Kamool has been knocking on the door of late and can gain a deserved success in the 3m handicap hurdle (16:15).
The Graeme McPherson trained six-year-old has made the frame in his last three starts and found only the thriving Luccombe Downe eight lengths too good last time out at Market Rasen.
Although not match for the easy winner, Kamool stuck to the task well and Luccombe Down has since gone on to score again at Stratford to make it 3-3 this season.
That gives the form a solid look and Kamool, who was conceding 3lb to Luccombe Down, is able to race in this off an unchanged mark of 111.
It makes the gelding look nicely-treated. Other pluses are that he hails from a yard in good form and has the services in the saddle of champion jockey Richard Johnson, who has a 30 per cent strike rate when teaming up with the stable in the past 12 months.

Zeshov can zoom to success at Yarmouth
Zeshov ran very well when runner-up last time out, so can take advantage of a drop in grade to go one better in the 1m handicap on today’s card at Yarmouth (17:05).
This gelding was last successful in a 7f contest at Newmarket 13 months ago off a mark of 73 when trained by Jeremy Noseda, going down by 1/2 a length before being awarded the race in the stewards’ room.
Now in the care of Rebecca Bastiman, the five-year-old is able to race off a reduced rating of 65 and has shaped as if gradually coming to the boil for his new handler.
On his penultimate outing at Beverley, Zeshov was making stealthy headway from the rear two from gome before getting reapeatedly denied a clear run and eventually being eased to finish a not knocked about eighth.
The son of Acclamation backed that up with a solid two length second to Anastazia in a class 5 contest over 7f at this venue 19 days ago, with the pair pulling 4 1/2 lengths clear of the field.
That gives the form a solid look in the context of this lower grade class 6 contest and, off an unchanged mark, here represents a great chance for Zeshov to get back on the scoresheet.
Rickrack ready to rock
Trainer Luca Cumani does well with his runners at this venue, so among our Yarmouth best bets we’ve also selected Rickrack, who can build on a promising debut to provide him with another winner in the 1m maiden that gets proceedings underway (14.00).
The filly looked badly in need of the experience when very slowly away and finishing a never dangerous 14 1/4 length seventh of nine to Blending in a class 4 contest over 7f at Newmarket.
Although beaten a long way, Rickrack was given a very tender introduction once blowing the start and looks sure to have learnt plenty for the experience in what looked a warm race for the grade.
Cumani’s juveniles also tend to come on significantly for their first run. and the step up in trip is likely to see Rickrack in far better light now dropped into class 5 company.
