Snap up the 5/6 about Vettel winning 2014 Drivers’ Championship

Sebastian Vettel has dominated the world of Formula One for four years and it’s time to get in early and snap up the 5/6 about the German in the 2014 Drivers’ Championship betting.

Those odds just look far too big for the 26-year-old who rounded off yet another magnificent season with victory in Brazil on Sunday.

He controlled the race and the only heart-stopping moment for his legions of fans was when a mix-up at his final pit stop on lap 47 cut his 12-second lead in half.

However Vettel showed his customary calmness and claimed the win, equalling the record of nine consecutive F1 victories set by Alberto Ascari way back in 1953.

It was Vettel’s teammate Mark Webber’s final race but there was never any chance that Vettel would allow the Australian – who finished second – to pass on the run to the line.

Formula One has always enjoyed periods of real domination by men such as Juan Manuel Fangio who won five titles in seven years between 1951 and 1957, Ayrton Senna who won three in four years between 1987 and 1991, and Michael Schumacher who won seven in 11 years between 1994 and 2004.

Red Bull’s Vettel will be aiming to match Schumacher’s record of five consecutive Drivers’ Championship titles and there appears little that the F1 governing body, the FIA, can do to stop him.

Other teams such as Ferrari may have been concentrating on the new engines and technical regulations since September, whilst Red Bull focused on winning the Manufacturers’ Championship.

However Fernando Alonso believes that Red Bull will still have the fastest car in 2014 and Vettel and the Red Bull team have always adapted to every change that has been introduced over the years; their ability to overcome the banning of exhaust-blown diffusers in 2012 being a good example.

Vettel rates a confident wager at 5/6 to continue his – and Red Bull’s – domination of the sport.
