Siskin heads betting for opening Irish Classic

Eleven runners have been declared for Irish 2,000 Guineas
Siskin is the favourite to win the Irish 2,000 Guineas on Friday evening.
11 horses have been declared for the opening Classic of the Irish season, with Siskin currently heading the betting at 9/4.
Aidan O’Brien has four hopefuls for the race at the Curragh, with Armory and Lope Y Fernandez the likely contenders for Siskin at 7/2 and 11/2 respectively.
“Siskin is the only one of the eleven Irish 2,000 Guineas runners bringing an unbeaten record to the Curragh, and so he’s a worthy favourite for Classic glory,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
“Although a typically strong Ballydoyle team making up more than half the field will not make life easy for the market leader.
“It’s an added bonus that racing fans here in the UK will be able to watch this big race live on ITV4 on Friday evening, and with such a competitive and open race in prospect, we can expect to see greater interest than usual in the first Irish Classic of this unusual season.”
