Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner looking for another chase win
After making a winning start to his chasing career in the Beginners’ Chase at Kempton, Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner Shishkin is the 6/4 favourite for Sporting Life Arkle success.
The six-year-old heads the field ahead of Envoi Allen, the 12/1 second favourite to claim victory at Cheltenham.
Shishkin is 5/2 to remain unbeaten for the remainder of the season, and the 8/11 favourite to end the season with a higher official rating, while Envoi Allen is evens to have the higher rating.
Coral’s David Stevens said: “Shishkin looked a natural over the bigger obstacles, and he’s already just 6/4 to win the Sporting Life Arkle next March, and while he looks unlikely to face Envoi Allen at the Festival, the pair could enjoy a rivalry of sorts this season, with Nicky Henderson’s charge favourite to end this campaign with a higher rating than the Irish star.”
Elsewhere, Copperhead and Potters Corner head the betting for the Coral Welsh Grand National as joint 12/1 favourites ahead of Notachance and Ramses De Teillee, who are 14/1 second favourites.
The Conditional remains the 6/1 favourite to win the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury’s Winter Carnival this weekend, ahead of Copperhead, Kildisart, Two For Gold, Vinndication and Aye Right, who are joint second favourites at 8/1.
