Sheikh Salman favourite to become Fifa president

Leading bookmaker Coral make Sheikh Salman, head of the Asian Football Confederation, the 5-4 front-runner to replace Sepp Blatter as Fifa president, after the final five candidates were confirmed today.  Former Fifa vice-president Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein is the second favourite at odds of 11-8.

Uefa general secretary Gianni Infantino is also in the running at odds of 9-1, while Tokyo Sexwale and Jerome Champagne are the outsiders at 10-1 and 16-1 respectively.

“Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein was the favourite to succeed Sepp Blatter before the New Year, but with just one month until voting takes place, the latest betting suggests that Sheikh Salman is now the one to beat,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
