Premier League legend discusses Tottenham ace

Tottenham were dealt a big blow this week with the news that Harry Kane is going to be missing for a few weeks with ligament damage.

Spurs have a huge FA Cup quarter-final tie coming so to lose your best player ahead of a game like that is not ideal.

The battle for fourth place is also hotting up in the Premier League, however, they don’t have a game for a couple of weeks because of the  international break so they’ll be hoping he is back and fit for the end of the campaign.

Son Heung-Min will now have the opportunity to be the leading man in the team and they will be looking for him to continue producing the goals.

He has been superb this season and one of their best players. If he keeps up his scoring record, they should be ok without Kane for a few weeks.

From an England point of view, it could end up being a good thing.

Heading into Euro 96 I had a hernia operation at a similar point of the year and it gave me a little bit of a rest.

I know you are working hard behind the scenes but you are not travelling, playing the games or getting kicked.

I then went on to finish as the top goalscorer at the tournament. The general feeling is that the top players are playing too much football so at least he is going to have a break.

He has had the same injury before so he will know how to handle it and so will the medical team.
