Shearer says: I still don’t think Arsenal will make the top four

Premier League legend previews the big game

It’s the North London derby this weekend and another chance to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in action.

My early impression was that he looked sharp, he’s quick, it was a very good finish for his goal (albeit he was offside) so he had a decent debut for Arsenal.

£60m for a guy with a goalscoring record like his when you see centre-backs going for £75m and full-backs for £50m, should be very good business.

Arsenal may improve going forward now but they still have their defensive problems, particularly away from home.

They have enjoyed going to Wembley in recent seasons though, winning trophies there and they’re in another Cup Final there this season.

They also beat Tottenham at the Emirates this season, so this shouldn’t faze them.

I still don’t believe Arsenal will make the top four this season, the two Manchester clubs yes, and then it’s a three way fight for the other two spots, between Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs.

It’s massively important for Spurs to finish in the top four. With the move to the new stadium, Champions League football is a must for the club.
