Premier League legend gives us his views

I thought Crystal Palace’s sacking of Frank De Boer earlier this week was embarrassing.

Whoever made that appointment surely knew about De Boer, how he likes his teams to play and what his philosophy is in football.

Surely they knew he wanted to play football differently than they had before? To get rid of him after four games is just incredible.

I thought it was a panic appointment and it has now been a panic sacking.

The return of Roy

I am pleased Roy Hodgson is back in football.

I spoke to him earlier this month at the Grenfell Charity game at Loftus Road and he told me that he was desperate to get back into football and was waiting for the right opportunity to excite him.

Roy didn’t want to end his managerial career with the debacle that was England’s game against Iceland.

After all he has had a successful career and has been all around the world.

He has a big job at Palace but the experience that he will bring to the dressing room will help.

He will get them very well organised and make them hard to beat. They should still have just enough to get out of the relegation battle.
