Serie A betting tips: Three into two doesn’t go

Preview and odds for this weekend’s key games

The chase for places in next season’s Champions League reaches a climax in Italy on Sunday and is the focus for our Serie A betting tips.

AC Milan, Napoli and Juventus are all in the running – and one of them will miss out. Juventus, currently on the outside looking in, are certainly not without hope, though, having salvaged some silverware from a disappointing campaign on Wednesday.

Here we have analysed the latest Serie A odds as we preview three key fixtures on an intriguing last day’s action in Italy’s top flight.

Bologna v Juventus (Sunday, 19:45)

Juve’s run of nine title successes in a row is over and they are battling to ensure participation in next season’s Champions League. However, developments in the last week suggest a challenging season could have a happy ending.

The late winner which saw off champions Inter Milan at the weekend kept their top-four hopes alive, and in midweek they lifted the Coppa Italia for the 14th time with victory over Atalanta.

Andrea Pirlo’s team will fancy their chances of climbing at least a place on Sunday – they have scored three in each of their last two Serie A matches. Juventus to score over 2.5 and win is 4/7.

The Old Lady have netted inside half an hour in those two league games and Juventus are 6/5 to be leading at 30 minutes.

Atalanta v AC Milan (Sunday, 19:45)

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta have been the league’s great entertainers this season, scoring 90 goals – three of them in the win at San Siro earlier in the campaign.

Although they suffered Coppa Italia final heartbreak on Wednesday, they have done enough already to ensure they will be back in the Champions League next season.

Milan’s top-four place is not yet assured but Stefano Pioli’s men have comfortably the best away record in the league, winning 15 of their 18 matches.

The hosts do not specialise in clean sheets however, and Milan to win a game where both teams score is 12/5, with over 3.5 goals available at 10/11.

Napoli v Verona (Sunday, 19:45)

Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli appear to have the easiest task of the trio seeking to guarantee a place in European football’s premier club competition next season; a home match against a mid-table team whose form has tailed off.

The Partenopei have scored 19 goals in their last six home games and history also favours them in this fixture – they have won all eight previous home matches against Verona, conceding just four times in that run. Over 4.5 goals is available at 7/4.

Napoli’s goals are coming from all over but Victor Osimhen is currently catching the eye. The Nigerian took time to truly fire following his move from Lille but is finishing with a flourish. Osimhen, who has netted five in his last six games, is 4/5 to score anytime.
