Before we can get to Cheltenham Festival 2025 next week, Sean Bowen has three rides at Sandown on March 8 and he previews them in his latest exclusive Coral blog.

1.50 – Malinificent
He ran nicely last time out at Bangor, but he probably needed further that day. This course should suit him as it is a big galloping track. I think this mark is very workable for him. However, it will be difficult to win a race like this on his first start in a handicap.
2.25 – Go Dante
He won this race last year and is now a couple of pounds below that mark. There have been signs of him bouncing back to what he is capable of, particularly on his last run at Newbury. I would prefer it if the ground was a little softer, but it does not look like there will be any rain overnight. He has a nice weight on his back, and he has shown he enjoys it around Sandown. We are at the top end of the betting for a reason, so hopefully we will be in the mix at the finish.
4.45 – Classic Anthem
This horse has been running well without winning. He was second last time out over this C&D. He travelled well in the race but didn’t finish strongly. The handicapper has dropped him 1lb for that run. I do think there is a win in him soon, and if things fall right, it could be in this race.
