It was obviously disappointing news that we lost the Coral Lanzarote meeting this weekend. However, I am delighted to be heading to Ffos Las for five rides. This meeting is now on ITV, so the Welsh racecourse will have the spotlight on it. Hopefully, I can come away with at least a couple of winners.
12.42 – Tamarind Bay
He is a nice horse who has been running consistently well. Unfortunately, he has bumped into a few smart ones recently which has meant he has had to settle for the minor honours. I am confident he will be thereabouts, and with a bit of luck on his side this time, he could take the first prize.
1.51 – Dangerous Touch
He had two poor runs over hurdles and then ran well, which meant he was handed an opening mark of 105. His first two runs would indicate that’s a steep mark but if he builds on his performance at Warwick, we will have a great chance, despite having top weight.
2.58 – Alan De Banks
He ran well at Bangor last time out finishing third in a 10-runner contest. This is his handicap debut now so we are hoping he can be competitive off this mark of 112. He will only carry 10st 2lb. I’ve always thought he was a nice horse, but we will learn a lot more about him in this contest.
3.31 – Art Of Diplomacy
This horse has some decent course form. He should come on for that run here last time out. This is a drop down in trip, but he will have no issues with the distance. I am confident he will run well and be in the mix.
4.01 – Next Twist
Olly Murphy has always thought a lot about this horse. He ran well in what looked like a decent bumper at Sandown. I am looking forward to seeing if he steps up on that performance.
