11.55 – Little Miss Dante
She ran well first time up at Bangor back in October, but didn’t build on that at Warwick on her latest run. She travelled well into the straight but then stopped quickly. If she can put her last run behind her, she will be competitive in what looks to be an open contest to begin the card.
12.30 – Westerninthepark
He is a lovely big horse who has improved over fences. His Cheltenham run was good, but he probably didn’t want to make the running. Hopefully, we can get a lead this time and he should keep on progressing.
1.05 – Junker d’Allier
He is a horse we have always liked. I am very surprised he never won a Bumper. His jumping has always been good. He could not have been any more impressive in his two victories so far. We are obviously stepping up in class now, but he deserves his place in this Grade One field. I am excited to see what he can do at this level.
1.40 – Act Of Authority
This horse has always had ability, but he has been quirky. He is on a hat-trick here, but he has had a 7lb claimer on his back in those successes, so he does have quite a rise in the weights to defy this time. However, when a horse is in this sort of form, you can never discount them, so I certainly would not be ruling him out.
2.15 – Ikarak
I was quite impressed with him at Warwick over hurdles. He jumped and travelled great. This will be his first start over fences since moving to Olly Murphy’s yard. His schooling has been very good, so we are expecting no issues with the bigger obstacles. He could be much better than his current chasing mark suggests.
2.50 – Booster Bob
He has had a wind-op since his last run at Warwick. On his day, this horse is very talented. He won his first three last season but was unable to follow that form in the second half of the campaign. There are only four runners in this field, and he will be able to drop out in last place, which will suit him.
3.25 – The Blue Room
Olly Murphy bought this horse for some leading owners. He is a son of the former Ascot Gold Cup winner Order Of St George. We are hoping he develops into a nice hurdler next season. There could be some smart horses in this field, as most of the big yards are represented.
