Ascot 12.25 – Copper Jack

I know he only finished seventh at Newton Abbot on his bumper run last month, but I really liked him that day, and as a winning point-to-pointer, he’s had that jumping experience, so he should be fine going over hurdles. It won’t be easy winning an Ascot novice first time over hurdles though, but I do think his bumper will turn out OK, and this fellow will win races in the future.

Ascot 2.05 – The Big Breakaway

The Big Breakaway was a classy performer for the Tizzards, but he hasn’t shown that level recently. He could be well-handicapped now as a result, so if he can show some of his old spark, he could have an each-way chance, but there is a question mark given his current form.

Ascot 2.45 – Thunder Rock

Apart from the mare, Golden Ace, Thunder Rock is the best well in here on ratings, and he’s a horse I’m looking forward to. He’s back over hurdles, but I don’t see that being an issue, and he goes well fresh. It’s a competitive looking race, but there’s nothing we should be scared of, and I hope he will go very well.

Ascot 3.50 – Rubies Or Gold

Rubies Or Gold has yet to get a win on the board, but he’s up in trip here, and he has the cheekpieces on for the first time, so if both of those changes bring out some improvement, he could go well off bottom weight.
