Scudamore says: “Southfield Royale has a big chance at Wincanton”

Top jockey profiles his weekend chances

It has been a good week so far. David’s horses have been running well as he has had five winners in the last week so we are hoping that continues.

He has a different type than he has had before and we have been hoping for a bit of rain for a lot of the horses, especially the younger ones and thankfully it is coming now.

Tom’s weekend rides

SATURDAY

12.40 Wincanton – It’s Obvious

He ran in a couple of point-to-point races but he has been of the track for a long time.

He has schooled well though so hopefully he can put in a good performance. If The Cap Fits is the one we all have to beat in the race.

1.50 Wincanton – Indian Stream

She was fourth at Cheltenham in the Grade One Mares’ Hurdle and she has some very good Listed form therefore she deserves to be top weight in this race.

She has to give a lot weight away but there is no reason why she can’t do it as she is a very good horse.

3.35 Wincanton – Southfield Royale

It is a very competitive race. He showed some good pieces of form last season. At the back end of the campaign he was a little disappointing though so he will have to bounce back from that.

What it does mean now though is that he is off a decent handicap mark so if he can find his best form again, he will have a big chance in this.

SUNDAY

1.20 Sandown – Accord

I rode this horse to win a nice novice chase back in October at Fontwell. He did disappoint next time around Plumpton but hopefully that wasn’t his true run.

If he does return to his form around Fontwell, he will be right there.

2.55 Sandown – Most Celebrated

He took really well to hurdling last year. This is a competitive contest. Sandown should suit him and this is a good starting point for him.

You’d like you think he will make into a nice handicap hurdler this season.
