Saturday’s World Cup Tips: Goals galore for Mexico and Belgium?

Preview and odds for today’s clashes
The second Saturday at the World Cup promises to be another belter, with three games lined up for your consumption across BBC and ITV.
Germany take on Sweden in the headline match at 7pm. Die Mannschaft really need a win from that one, so the Coral News Team have given it the Big Match Breakdown treatment as a result.
Before that, though, there are two equally important match-ups as Belgium face Tunisia in Group G and Mexico take on South Korea in Group F. Check out our top tips for those clashes below…
Belgium v Tunisia (1pm)
If England beat Panama on Sunday and Belgium see off Tunisia in this one, then all the important issues in Group G will have been decided by Sunday teatime. Going off the four nations’ respective performances in the first round of games, that’s not an altogether unlikely scenario.
Roberto Martinez’s men had to work for their 3-0 victory in the opener, but their superior firepower eventually showed through. Against a Tunisia side that gifted the Three Lions a bucket load of chances on Monday night, the Coral News Team think the Belgians could fill their boots.
Belgium to Win at 4/11 makes little appeal. So it’s the goals market that gets our attention. The Red Devils to Win and Over 2.5 Goals is 11/10, with Belgium and Over 3.5 Goals available at 13/5.
Manchester United ace Romelu Lukaku fired home twice against Panama. He’s 2/1 for a repeat performance against Tunisia, while Chelsea star Eden Hazard can be backed at 5/4 Anytime.
Alternatively, you can back the European side at even-money on the -1 Handicap and 11/5 to Win Both Halves.
South Korea v Mexico (4pm)
Mexico provided the shock of the tournament so far by seeing off reigning champions Germany 1-0 on Sunday. A match-up with South Korea in Rostov promises to be a more straightforward assignment for Javier Hernandez and co.
El Tri created plenty of chances against Joachim Low’s men and are unlikely to be as wasteful this afternoon. They’re 7/10 to Win Outright and 5/4 to Win and Over 2.5 Goals to be scored in the match.
Youngster Hirving Lozano was exceptional in Moscow and saw his performance rewarded with a goal. Against an ageing and under-par South Korea side, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if the PSV star added to his tally and his reputation. You can back the 22-year-old at 7/4 to Score Anytime and 9/1 to Score 2 or More.
It’s not just the Taeguk Warriors’ defence that comes in for criticism. It’s their attack as well. Shin Tae-yong’s men looked listless going forward against Sweden. They had just five shots in the 90 minutes, with none of those hitting the target.
Mexico had no problems dealing with Germany’s impressive forward armoury and the Coral News Team aren’t expecting them to be breached by South Korea either. It’s 6/4 for Mexico to Win to Nil and 23/20 for Mexico and Under 3.5 Goals.
