Saturday Football acca tips: Barcelona, Bremen and Angers included
Published:Big day of action across the continent
There’s a flurry of top football across Europe this Saturday, including a potential goal-glut in the Eredivisie and an appealing away trip for Tottenham Hotspur.
Ahead of the day’s action, the Coral News Team have compiled five top tips for you…
Bremen are looking for a third league win on the spin as they make the journey to Baden-Wurttemberg.
They’ve taken maximum points from their last two away trips, with entertaining wins at Eintracht Frankfurt and Augsburg. And they face a Stuttgart side still looking for their first win since May.
Two of the last three meetings have ended in Bremen victories, including a 6-2 rout back in 2016. With the visitors firing on all cylinders, another win in Stuttgart looks to be on the cards.
Barca have been smashing the goals in this season, netting 17 times in their last four home games. And they face an Athletic side winless in four games – including a humbling 3-0 home loss to Villarreal last time out.
The Catalan club don’t tend to make slip-ups in this fixture. They’ve breezed to victory in each of the last four head-to-heads, winning all of them by a multiple-game margin.
With the front three of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele on fire, they could rack up the goals again.
Guingamp are sitting rock-bottom of Ligue 1 right now, having managed a single point from their seven league games. And things are unlikely to improve as they visit an in-form Angers side.
The hosts have taken 10 points from their last four league games, including a 1-0 victory at Monaco on Tuesday night.
Add the fact that Angers have won the last three head-to-heads at home without conceding a goal, and it’s hard to see past a comfortable win for Stephane Moulin’s men.
Spurs’ recent form has been up-and-down, but they should have enough about them to see off a Terriers side who look nailed-on for relegation.
David Wagner’s men have managed two points from six games, scoring just three goals and shipping 14. And they were blown away by Spurs in last season’s head-to-heads.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men won 4-0 at the John Smith’s Stadium in September 2017, before a straightforward 2-0 victory at Wembley in April of this year.
Heerenveen are pure entertainment for the neutral at present. Their six Eredivisie games this season have thrown up an incredible 31 goals (or 5.16 per game).
Each of their last two home games have ended in 5-3 defeats, with a 3-3 draw at Excelsior squashed into the middle.
Things have been pretty similar at ADO, whose last three games across all competitions have included a 6-0 win and a 7-0 loss. This could be an absolute goal-fest.
