Moore 11/8 to claim the award

Ahead of this week’s Glorious Goodwood festival, Ryan Moore has been placed as the 11/8 favourite to be crowned top jockey.

He’ll face tough competition throughout the week with plenty of top-quality jockeys taking to the event, but it’s Jim Crowley who’s second favourite at 11/4, with the Coral ambassador keen to make up for narrowly missing out to Frankie Dettori at this year’s Royal meeting.

Elsewhere, Oisin Murphy comes in as the 6/1 third favourite, ahead of Royal Ascot’s leading jockey Dettori at 13/2.

Coral’s David Stevens said: “Jim Crowley was just pipped to the top riding honours by Frankie Dettori at this year’s Royal meeting, and despite having a strong team of horses to ride for his boss Sheikh Hamdan at Glorious Goodwood, the betting suggests he may once again have to settle for second best, this time to Ryan Moore.”

After final declarations for the Qatar Sussex Stakes, Siskin remains the favourite for the Goodwood showpiece Group One renewal at 2/1, ahead of Mohaather at 11/4 in the field of seven runners.

Stevens added: “While a field of three for Saturday’s King George may have been numerically disappointing, no such complaints can be made about the Sussex Stakes, with two Guineas winners taking on a dual-Royal Ascot winner in Circus Maximum, and a horse full of potential in Mohaather.”
