Coral’s latest rumour reel includes yet more tasty transfer gossip, with a number of star names across the globe being linked with moves to the Premier League this January.
Juan Bernat, Antonio Rudiger and Agustin Davila are all the men in question for switches to England’s top-flight, so read on to find out where they could end up playing…
Pep targeting new left back
After a shaky start to life in the Premier League, despite his new club still being top of the table on goal difference, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is looking to further perfect his team by bringing in a new left back.
With Gael Clichy out of contract at the end of the season and Aleksandar Kolarov in his early 30s, the Spaniard is reportedly hoping to sign fellow Spaniard Juan Bernat from his former club Bayern Munich.
The duo worked together with the German outfit after Guardiola bought him from Valencia in 2014, and he certainly needs someone he can trust at the back, as City have conceded 11 times in their last five matches in all competitions.
Bernat, 23, is currently rated at £20m, which the Citizens will surely be more than willing to pay, so expect the Spain international at the Etihad soon enough.
Chelsea hoping to bolster defence too
Another former Bundesliga star is being linked to the English top tier, as commanding centre back Antonio Rudiger, 23, is said to be on the radar of Chelsea.
The Blues have had a shaky start to the season too but, in opposite fashion to Man City, have picked up form most recently to see themselves just one point off the pace.
After their 4-0 humiliation of Manchester United on Sunday, it may seem that they are not in desperate need of new recruits.
However, with Antonio Conte now adopting his 3-4-3 formation, he will want to make sure he has enough cover at centre half. That is as Gary Cahill and David Luiz have not looked totally convincing this term, while John Terry is coming towards the end of his career and it is unsure how Kurt Zouma will cope after a long lay-off.
It is said that a deal for Roma’s Rudiger, formerly of Stuttgart, could be worth up to £35m, but they’ll have to tussle with Man Utd for the Berlin-born Germany international’s signature.
Reds to sign new Suarez?
Elsewhere, Liverpool look set to sign Uruguayan teenager Agustin Davila, after the 17-year-old impressed during a two-week trial.
Striker Davila has been prolific back in his home country with Atletico Penarol’s youth teams, and the Reds will be hoping they’ve unearthed another gem from the football mad nation – after previously boasting Luiz Suarez among their ranks.
