Leandro Paredes to Arsenal?
First up, the Gunners. Arsene Wenger is linked with yet another midfielder in Argentine anchorman Leandro Paredes to Arsenal across the back pages.
Currently on Roma’s books, he returned to the Stadio Olimpico this summer after an impressive loan spell with Empoli. Paredes, 22, is a product of Boca Juniors’ academy, putting him in the elevated company of modern day graduates Juan Roman Riquelme and Carlos Tevez.
The Gunners are well-stocked in the engine room with Francis Coquelin, Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka all deep-lying options, but Wenger is always on the lookout for improving his squad in this area of the field.
Ravel Morrison linked with Hull?
Former Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison linked with Hull also pops up in the press today. The maverick playmaker is in Italy as well with Roma’s bitter Eternal City rivals Lazio.
Now 23, Morrison has struggled to get into the first-team picture in Serie A and is currently frozen out by the Eagles. Making a handful of appearances last term, the Tigers could offer him a winter escape and return to the Premier League.
Hull boss Mike Phelan worked with Morrison when he was on the staff under legendary Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford. Morrison is reportedly available for a cut-price £600k, meaning he could be a January sales bargain.
Daniel Sturridge speculation latest: Spurs to swoop?
In yesterday’s Rumour Reel, we reported England striker Daniel Sturridge being linked with West Ham United and Stoke City, but now Tottenham could also be about to offer him the chance to return the capital.
Understood to be available for transfer at £28m, Liverpool misfit Sturridge interested Spurs over the summer and chairman Daniel Levy could well go in again for the 27-year-old.
Tottenham could pair Sturridge with fellow Three Lions frontman Harry Kane. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino may be seeking more firepower, as summer signing Vincent Janssen struggles to step up to Premier League level after scopping the Eredivisie Golden Boot last term.
