Rumour Reel: Klopp’s Liverpool make move for Athletic Bilbao striker Williams

The transfer window may be shut until January, but Premier League clubs are still searching around for and enquiring about players that can potentially make an impact within their squad for the second part of the season.
Top tier outfits have some time to wait before deals can be done, but it hasn’t stopped coaches from window shopping, as the domestic action continues into an exciting matchweek seven.
Liverpool target Williams
Jurgen Klopp has overseen his Liverpool side become one of the most potent attacking forces at this early stage of the season, with the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana starring, though the German coach is reportedly keen to boost his forward options further in January.
The former Borussia Dortmund tactician is being linked with a swoop for Athletic Bilbao frontman Inaki Williams, with the 22-year-old having caught the eye recently with his impressive performances in La Liga this term.
Liverpool target Williams was netted eight times for Bilbao last season and his rampant rise to prominence also saw him awarded his full senior Spain debut earlier this year.
The highly-rated youngster would join all of Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Danny Ings as out-and-out finishers in Klopp’s current setup, and could provide the Reds with another clinical eye for goal this term.
Mourinho keen on Fonte
Since arriving at Old Trafford in the summer, Jose Mourinho has been heavily linked to Southampton centre back and skipper Jose Fonte, and the Portuguese boss could finally see such a transfer come to fruition in the coming months.
It’s believed Mourinho may finally land his man in January, but the club first want him to sell on a defender to raise the funds, with Argentina international Marcos Rojo maybe at risk of being trimmed from the Red Devils squad.
Manchester United are more than capable of affording the £10m asking price for Fonte, but at least one defensive star will need to be offloaded in order to make room on the roster at Old Trafford, as Mourinho ups his pursuit of the Portugal international.
Euro 2016 winner Fonte’s current contract at St Mary’s is set to expire next summer and the Saints are yet to agree a new deal for their captain, as the centre back looks destined for a move to Man Utd.
