The summer transfer window officially opened on July 1st, and clubs have wasted no time chasing down their targets one by one, as they look to complete some of their business with the upcoming Premier League campaign fast approaching.
Jurgen jumps for Joao
According to reports in Portugal, Liverpool have had a £33.5m bid rebuffed by Sporting Lisbon for attacking midfielder Joao Mario.
Jurgen Klopp is keen to add Mario to his Reds roster to supplement his already stellar attacking array of talents. However, the Anfield outfit may have to fork out a huge fee to prise the Euro 2016 winner away from Portugal’s capital.
Jorge Jesus’ side will demand a fee in the region of £50m for Mario’s dazzling talents.
Chelsea are also rumoured to interested, but Italian side Inter Milan look like the Merseyside club’s biggest rivals.
Arsene eyes Jese
Jese Rodriguez has reportedly been told to leave the Spanish capital by Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, and has advised him to look elsewhere for first team playing opportunities, after he started just seven La Liga games last term.
The 23-year-old Spaniard will find playing time hard to come by with Los Blancos this coming campaign, with the return of Alvaro Morata and the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema back for another stellar season.
Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen to add more pace to his forward line and alter the way his team plays, by incorporating counter-attacking football into their gameplan.
Koeman keen on Carvalho
Chelsea and Ronald Koeman’s Toffees look to be locked in a fight for Euro 2016 winner William Carvalho. The 24-year-old has been linked with a big money switch to the Premier League for the past few years, but now seems likely he could end up on English shores.
Everton are tipped to spend big this summer, after Farhad Moshiri became the new majority shareholder and is keen to bring in quality players to kick-start his reign in Liverpool with a bang. Koeman is also reportedly keen to add quality to a lacklustre midfield.
However, they face competition from Chelsea, after their pursuit of Roma’s Radja Nainggolan went cold.
