Despite a rocky 2016 which has seen the Hammers move into a new stadium and hover dangerously above the relegation zone, their ambition has not been diminished, with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to West Ham United all over today’s back pages.
Neither Manchester United man has had a particularly stellar campaign, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic dominating the centre forward berth.

Rashford and Martial to West Ham?
Slaven Bilic’s Hammers are reportedly preparing audacious offers to try and take either Rashford or Martial on loan next month.
It is understood the east London club are ready to promise starting roles for each forward, in an attempt to attract the players. Their own recruitment in attack has left a lot to be desired, with loan duo Jonathan Calleri and Simone Zaza both flopping.
After breaking through at Old Trafford last season, Rashford has endured a spluttering campaign this term, starting out wide instead of up top. The 19-year-old England striker likely poses West Ham’s best chance at landing a United player and Jose Mourinho reportedly warned him he couldn’t play every week.
As for Martial, the Frenchman seems to have recently impressed Mourinho with his attitude and could see him return to first-team action soon.
However, Bilic reportedly has other targets including Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel and Porto’s Laurent Depoitre, though may be discouraged from recruiting from Serie A again after Zaza’s disappointing temporary switch from Juventus.
Wenger to go for Gaya?
It appears Arsene Wenger is in search of a left back at Arsenal and, in Valencia’s Jose Luis Gaya, the Frenchman may have found the perfect player.
The Spaniard, yet to collect a senior cap, has been a consistently outstanding performer in a poor Los Che side.
At just 21, Gaya is rated as one of Europe’s leading prospects and Wenger is reportedly keen to snap up the defender before his stock rises even higher.
First-choice Gunners left back Nacho Monreal turns 31 in February, while Arsenal are yet to offer the injury-prone Kieran Gibbs a new deal with only 18 months left on his current contract.
