Coral’s rumour reel

With the January transfer window just around the corner, Premier League managers are swiftly trying to sort some business ahead of what will be a busy winter period.

This includes league leaders Chelsea and Manchester United, with both clubs competing for the signing of a highly-rated Roma defender in the coming months.

So read on to find out who is going where in Coral’s rumour reel for December 20th…

Chelsea and Man Utd battle for Rudiger

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea may be flying high in the top-flight standings while Man Utd fight to keep in the race for the top four, but both sides are set to collide in the January transfer window for the signature of Roma centre back Antonio Rudiger.

The 23-year-old German defender has been superb for the Serie A outfit so far this current campaign and has attracted the big boys around Europe with his strong showings in the heart of Roma’s rearguard.

This includes the Blues and Red Devils, as Roma are keen to offload their defensive star in order to ease their current financial problems, as Conte and Mourinho aim to pip each other to his services in the winter window.

With Rudiger set to be offered to the highest bidder in January, both Chelsea and Man Utd will be battling in order to land the in-form the Germany international and bolster their respective squads the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, Man Utd have also opened talks with Benfica over the potential signing of centre back Victor Lindelof, with the Swede the subject of a £38m bid from the Old Trafford outfit.

Arsenal target Reus capture

The future of key Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez still remain unclear and, with uncertainty surrounding their Gunners careers, Arsene Wenger is planning ahead with a strong recruit.

Borussia Dortmund wideman and skipper Marco Reus has become one of the top attackers in European football in recent years and has showed great dedication to his club, resisting previous advances from top continent sides.

Although, with the lure of the Premier League and regular Champions League action, Wenger will be hoping to land the Bundesliga superstar and boost his side, if Ozil and Sanchez fail to agree new bumper deals.

Reus arriving at the Emirates would represent a massive coup for the Londoners, as they aim to continue their title charge this season and end their long-standing Premier League trophy drought.
