Remarkable ready to rock in Carnarvon Stakes

Remarkable scored in incredible fashion last time out and can take the step up into Listed company in his stride to land the 6f Carnarvon Stakes on a cracking card at Newbury (15.20).

The John Gosden trained colt shaped with plenty of promise on his sole run as a juvenile when eighth of 14 to Massaat in a hot maiden at Leicester, and had little difficulty opening his account when landing a 7f contest at Southwell by 2 1/4 lengths.

Remarkable then lived up to his name when landing a 17-runner handicap over 6f at Doncaster with far more in hand than the winning margin of 1 3/4 lengths suggests.

Huge engine and on a serious upward curve

After losing stacks of ground when dwelling at the start, the three-year-old appeared to be going nowhere two from home.

However, Remarkable then responded to the urgings of jockey Rab Havlin and took off to come with a storming late run inside the final furlong and win going away at the line.

It was a breathtaking performance, and one which showed Remarkable had a huge engine and needed keeping firmly onside.

The son of Pivotal is clearly on a serious upward curve, and with underfoot conditions holding no fears Remarkable can take this en route to even better things.

Dream Dubai and Moore feared most

Dream Dubai also has a progressive profile and with Ryan Moore in the saddle looks sure to give Remarkable plenty to think about.

The Sylvester Kirk trained colt overcame greenness to make a winning debut at Lingfield last month and posted a smart effort when stepped into Group 3 company and finishing runner-up to Gifted Master at Ascot 17 days ago.

Although no match for the easy winner, Dream Dubai kept on from off off the pace to be nearest at the finish and the third home Gracious John has since come out and run a blinder to finish runner-up in a Listed contest at York’s Dante meeting.

That gives the form a solid look in the context of this lower grade contest, and connections are planning to have a tilt at the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot on the back of it.

Dream Dubai is clearly held in the very highest regard, and with the prospect of plenty more improvement to come the son of Kyllachy looks a massive player under Moore.

Coral’s top tip: Dream Dubai and Remarkable both have progressive profiles, and the latter looks decent value to come out and top and land a hot renewal of the Carnarvon Stakes.
