Red hot Luke Morris is confident of bagging more winners at Chelmsford on Saturday, plus he reveals his five to follow for the All-Weather Championships!

It’s about ten weeks until All-Weather Championships Finals Day at Lingfield on Good Friday so I thought I’d give you a five horses I’m looking forward to seeing in action between now and March 25:
Complicit (trainer: Paul Cole)
He’s one I mentioned in one of my earlier columns and he definitely deserves to be mentioned again. He finished behind Lamar at Lingfield last week on his first run for a while and would have benefited from that run. The aim is the Coral Easter Classic on All-Weather Finals Day and he’s one I’m looking forward to riding again.

She’s a lovely filly trained by my boss. She had a few little issues with the stalls before she was due to run first time, but a lot of work has gone in at home and she’s been much better since – including when winning at Wolverhampton last week. She’s always shown plenty in the mornings and I like her a lot.
Certified (trainer: James Tate)
She gave me a really good feel when she won a maiden at Chelmsford in November. She looks to be on a nice mark for when she runs next and hopefully she can progress and make her presence felt in handicaps over the coming weeks.
Gracious John (trainer: David Evans)
He’s not a horse I’m likely to be riding but I like him a lot and I was impressed by the way he won a Fast-Track Qualifier the other day. He looks like an improving horse and I don’t think he was fully tuned up when he won last time either. He’s one to look out for in the 3YO Sprint final on Good Friday, a race I won last year on Lightscameraction.
Tower Power (trainer: Phil McEntee)
One a bit more under the radar but he has run well recently and I think there is some improvement in him still, especially off the mark he’s on.
While they are horses to look out for in the coming weeks, I’ve got another strong book on rides on Saturday and I’ll be hoping I can grab a few more winners like I did last weekend. I think I’ve got a few good chances of doing so too.
Rococoa – 1.00 Chelmsford
I think she’s got a really big chance. The last day I rode her nice and handy but I felt she would benefit from being ridden more positively again and making the running might suit. She ran in a better race last time so I’m hoping for a big run from her. I felt she’d improved from her first run to the second run and she should do again today as she’s a tough, game filly.
Pink Ribbon – 1.35 Chelmsford
I’ve ridden him twice before; winning once and finishing second on the other start. He’s been in great form on the all-weather and seems to like the artificial surfaces. He’s nicely berthed in stall one and should have a solid chance.
Judicial – 2.10 Chelmsford
I’m hoping he’s still improving as he’s unexposed and unbeaten on the all-weather. He’s got a great stall in four and there’s plenty of pace around him to take him into the race. The break would have done him the world of good and I think he should have a strong chance in a good race.

It’s a perfect race for her really as it’s a fillies’ race and, although she’s got to give away weight to a few of them, she’s well clear on the ratings. As long as the race hasn’t come too soon she must have a massive chance of winning again. She didn’t have an overly hard race last weekend as we went steady enough for the first six furlongs and then quickened it up off the bend at Lingfield. Godolphin’s My Call is a danger as you can’t know how good she might be but my filly is tough, hardy and you can set your clock by her.
Captain Felix – 3.20 Chelmsford
He’s 7lb out of the handicap so he’s got a bit to find strictly at the figures. However if he comes back and shows his best form he could run a decent race.
Je T’Aime Encore – 3.55 Chelmsford
I’ve ridden him in the past when he’s run well but he’s been a little bit disappointing lately. He’s another that would be more than capable of running a good race if he was to come back to some of the form he has shown in the past.
Spray Tan – 4.25 Chelmsford
This is a very weak grade of race and I’d like to think she would have a chance of being involved at the finish. I’ve won on her in the past off a higher mark so she is capable.
Cheers,
Luke
