R-Patz favourite to play Jamie Vardy in new movie

Leading bookmaker Coral has opened betting on who will play Jamie Vardy and Claudio Ranieri in a movie, should the striker’s rags-to-riches fairy-tale story hit the big screen.  Robert Pattinson has been chalked up as the 10-1 favourite to play Vardy, ahead of Zac Efron at 12-1 and Louis Tomlinson at 20-1. Other names on the list include Eddie Redmayne and Daniel Radcliffe at 25-1 and 33-1 respectively

Coral is also betting on who will play Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri, making Robert De Niro the front-runner at 25-1, with Mark Rylance a close second favourite at 33-1. At a bigger price, George Clooney, Al Pacino, and Dustin Hoffman have been priced at 100-1, while Clint Eastwood is 1000-1.

With a movie yet to be confirmed, Coral is quoting odds of 2-1 on it actually happening.

“It looks like Jamie Vardy is going to become a Hollywood hero and speculation has already begun on who will play him and his boss Claudio Ranieri,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.

“Robert Pattinson is in pole position to portray Vardy, while Robert De Niro looks set to play Ranieri, although there have been a few bets on George Clooney, possibly because of the silver fox link,” added McGeady.
