Quartet of favourites could help punters gain Aintree revenge

Published:

Having largely come off second-best at last month’s Cheltenham Festival, punters could gain a measure of revenge at Aintree tomorrow, when hot favourites Top Notch, Defi Du Seuil, Cue Card and Buveur D’Air line up in the opening four races of this year’s Grand National meeting.

“No other meeting is as big as the Cheltenham Festival, with races from the four days dominating our list of top turnover races for the year, and so when it goes in our favour there, as last month did on the whole, it’s a big blow for punters,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

“Apart from the Grand National itself, the Aintree races this week won’t attract as much interest as Cheltenham, but it will still be an important couple of days, and Top Notch, Defi Du Seuil, Cue Card and Buveur D’Air will all be popular selections, and wins for all four would certainly give punters a measure of revenge,” added Stevens.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s big race, One For Arthur, 12-1 (from 14-1) and More Of That, 14-1 (from 16-1), have been the subject of support with Coral today, although 11-1 second favourite Definitly Red remains 6-4 to start favourite.
