PSG aiming to keep top spot as they take on Ajax with Cavani & co

PSG could be finally starting to show that they are capable of reaching the latter stages of the Champions League, after masses of investment in the club from their oil-rich owners.

They are odds-on at 1/3 with Coral to beat Ajax in Paris, however drew 1-1 with Ronald de Boer’s side in the Amsterdam Arena. Edinson Cavani broke the deadlock in that fixture, and is 10/3 to do so again, having scored three in four matches so far in Europe this term.

The French champions would have held out, though a Lasse Schone’s spectacular free-kick brought the hosts level, and Denmark’s 28-year-old international is 11/2 to hit the back of the net anytime once more.

Attacker Anwar El-Ghazi, who is 6/1 in the anytime market, is quietly confident of causing an upset in France, after a 4-1 win over Heerenveen last time out.

“Now we have won, the good work [continues] towards Paris. I think there [we can] definitely get something,” the player said after the match.

“We just need to be third [in the group], it is an advantage that Paris is already [qualified].”

Midfield teammate, Davvy Klaassen, 7/1 to strike anytime in the match, agrees. “On the basis of today, we are not ready for Tuesday’s game. But I’m quite confident,” he said.

When PSG win, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is never far from the main action, though has missed most of the season through injury. Despite this, he is 11/4 to open the scoring, and 5/2 to net on more than two occasions.

Argentine Ezequiel Lavezzi dispatched a late winner, last time out in the league against Metz and is 9/2 to score last against the Dutch outfit, while David Luiz seems to have settled in well for the Parisians, even finding the net, to take the lead, in their thrilling 3-2 win over Barcelona. The Brazilian is 6/1 to to be on target anytime.

A victory will keep PSG at the top of Group F, and if results go their way, they could qualify as winners.
