Following the conclusion of this season’s first international break, the Premier League returns this weekend with a bang, with the pick of the top-flight clashes being the awaited Manchester derby, as Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola renew their rivalry in England.
Arsenal will also come up against Southampton, Hull City look to maintain their impressive season start at Burnley, Stoke City host Tottenham and Liverpool welcome the champions Leicester City to Anfield among tasty top tier fixtures.
Ahead of the returning weekend of action, Coral outline promising Premier League tips for the upcoming encounters from Saturday afternoon to Monday night football, featuring the highly-anticipated Manchester derby.
Rashford to net last goal in Manchester derby
Ever since both Mourinho and Guardiola arrived at Manchester United and Manchester City respectively this past summer, fans have been eagerly anticipating derby day, as the coaching rivals get ready to go head-to-head on the sideline again.
The Red Devils have enjoyed more success in this feisty fixture of late, having won two of the last three meetings and going unbeaten on home soil since 2014.
Young frontman Marcus Rashford recently hit a hat-trick on his England Under-21 debut and was the derby match winner last season, when he dispatched in the first-half to secure a narrow 1-0 victory for United. The teenage sensation is therefore a promising 13/2 to net the game’s last goal again in his latest outing.
Cherries to sink Baggies and both score
Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth are boosted by the loan capture of Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere among others, and they will be confident of overcoming a West Bromwich Albion side that they have not lost to since 2011.
Both sides have scored in the last four contests since 2011, with the Cherries prevailing in two of the previous three clashes, and they are 4/1 to secure another victory with the two teams finding the target.
Arsenal and Southampton to share spoils
Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal have a woeful recent record against Southampton, having only toppled the Saints once since January 2014 and losing out on three occasions.
They will look to overturn that run on home turf on Saturday afternoon, with the south coast club having failed to win in three outings so far this term, but a second successive fixture draw can be taken up at 3/1.
Hull to down Burnley to nil
The previous seven consecutive match-ups between Burnley and Hull City have saw one team win without conceding, and the visiting Tigers are 15/4 to continue that trend by securing an away triumph to nil.
Currently under the temporary guidance of Mike Phelan, Hull have been in fine form, having won their opening three games and only narrowly losing out to Man Utd last time out through a 90th minute Rashford winner.
Zaza to strike first on West Ham debut
Slaven Bilic’s Hammers have endured a tough start to the campaign, winning just a single league outing so far, but their summer reinforcements could help sway fortunes and form back in their favour.
Italy international forward Simone Zaza arrived from dominant Serie A champions Juventus and he is 5/1 to open the scoring on his debut against Watford at the Olympic Stadium, as part of Saturday’s 3pm kick-offs.
Spurs to sink Stoke without conceding
Mark Hughes’ Potters are worryingly residing rock bottom of the table at this early stage of the campaign, after so far failing to secure a domestic win.
Recent history doesn’t bode well for Stoke against Spurs either, having lost three of the last four encounters with the London club on home soil, and they are 11/5 to taste defeat again without getting on the scoresheet.
Benteke to open Palace account anytime
This will be the first top-flight meeting between Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace since 2005, though it’s the Northeast club that have had the more fixture success in Championship and cup clashes since.
Alan Pardew will be hopeful of bucking that trend though and will be relying on new signing Christian Benteke to provide a new attacking threat on their travels. So back the former Liverpool target man at 7/4 to open his Eagles account anytime at the Riverside.
Vardy to strike anytime at Anfield
In Saturday’s evening match-up at Anfield, Claudio Ranieri’s visiting champions will hope to record similar success to their 2-0 win over the Reds last season, when star striker Jamie Vardy bagged a brilliant brace.
Vardy was able to get off the mark for the term before the international break against Swansea City, and he is a promising 15/8 to find the target again anytime on the red half of Merseyside.
Chelsea dispatch three or more past Swans
The action continues over to Sunday too, with Swansea hosting Antonio Conte’s rejuvenated Chelsea side at the Liberty Stadium, and the travelling capital club are 9/4 to fire in three or more goals on Welsh soil.
Three of the last four fixture clashes have produced four or more strikes, with the Blues having 11 times across those games. The Swans rearguard is weakened after Ashley Williams departed for Everton, while Diego Costa has rediscovered his clinical edge in recent weeks.
Januzaj to net anytime past Everton
Before the international break, Sunderland’s on-loan attacker Adnan Januzaj managed to open his account on Wearside, when netting the late winner in the League Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town.
The Red Devils owned winger has looked bright since arriving at David Moyes’ Black Cats and he is 2/1 to bag his maiden Premier League goal for the club anytime in this Monday night meeting against Everton on home soil.
