Coral’s rumour reel

With the summer transfer window slamming shut on Wednesday night, the usual scramble for business is set to take place across the final two days, as Premier League clubs aim to land their targets with only hours remaining before Deadline Day.

Arsenal make Almiron bid

One top-flight outfit that are reportedly hoping to secure some more fresh faces before the deadline is Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger closing in on the capture of Paraguay international midfielder Miguel Almiron.

The 22-year-old, currently plying his trade in South America with Argentine champions Lanus, is the subject of an £11m offer from the Gunners this summer, as they aim to bolster their central areas.

England midfielder Jack Wilshere has reportedly been told he is allowed to depart the Emirates in this window, potentially on a season-long loan, meaning Wenger will have even more cause to secure a deal for this talented Paraguay midfielder playmaker.

So, as Arsenal make an Almiron bid, Wenger could be set for a busy Deadline Day, while the Gunners faithful may finally see some desired new acquisitions arrive in London.

Toffees track Gabbiadini

On the blue half of Merseyside, Everton are also in pursuit of a new signing, with Italy international forward Manolo Gabbiadini still high on their list of targets, despite having previously had a £19.6m bid rejected by Napoli.

The Toffees haven’t given up hope of luring the 24-year-old to Goodison Park before Wednesday’s 11pm deadline, a striker who dispatched five Serie A goals last season.

Ronald Koeman has managed to retain the services of Belgium bulldozer Romelu Lukaku, for now, but the Dutchman is keen to add firepower to his squad for the top tier campaign and sees Gabbiadini as the perfect suit.

Liverpool make move for Luan

On the other side of the city, Liverpool are aiming to land a recent Olympic Gold medallist, with the Reds having reportedly submitted a substantial £30m bid for Gremio and Brazil attacking starlet Luan.

Manchester United have also been linked to the 23-year-old’s services, after a summer in which he shone for the Samba Boys in their historic Gold medal success on home soil, having netted twice in the tournament.

The talented forward also held his nerve in the final shoot-out before skipper and Barcelona superstar Neymar tucked home the decisive penalty, and Jurgan Klopp is keen to oversee Luan’s arrival at Anfield in the coming days.
