Look-ahead and odds for the weekend’s action

The Premier League returns for another week of crucial games, including Manchester City’s visit to Anfield. Keep your eyes peeled for a Big Match Breakdown on that game this Sunday.

But there’s plenty more to discuss across the top-flight, and the Coral News Team go into the big talking points below…

Man United have ideal chance to bounce back

It’s no secret that all is not well at Old Trafford, with Manchester United fans finding it to be more a Theatre of Nightmares of late.

The Red Devils are winless in their last four games, with three of those coming at home. It’s extremely poor form – especially considering the players at Jose Mourinho’s disposal.

However, they appear to have the perfect fixture to bounce back on Saturday, at home to Newcastle United. Not only are the Magpies winless in this season, they’ve lost on four of their last six visits to M16, including a 4-1 trouncing last term.

Coral’s odds have a Man United win at 4/9, while the hosts are 13/10 on the -1 handicap.

Gunners can tear apart leaky Cottagers

Arsenal are in formidable form at present, with Unai Emery having revitalised last season’s underperforming side.

His 4-2-3-1 system has been working wonders, with the Gunners’ 3-0 win at Qarabag on Thursday night their eighth straight victory in all competitions. And they could well steamroller a Fulham side with all sorts of problems at the back.

The Cottagers head into this weekend with the joint-worst defensive record in the Premier League, shipping 16 goals in seven games. And they’ll also be missing Gunners loanee Calum Chambers, who is ineligible to face his parent club.

Emery’s men are 14/1 to record another 3-0 victory, while Arsenal to Win Both Halves is a 16/5 shot.

Reds bidding to continue dominance of Citizens

Liverpool and Man City can’t be separated by points at present. The pair occupy the Premier League’s top two spots, with both recording six wins and a draw from the opening seven games.

However, it’s Jurgen Klopp’s side who have dominated this fixture in recent times. They’ve won each of the previous three clashes in 2018, netting nine goals in the process.

With home advantage and their strong head-to-head record, the Reds could steal a march on City when the pair face off on Sunday. Coral’s odds make it 29/20 for a Liverpool win.

Seagulls seemingly in danger of the drop

There’s no doubt Chris Hughton has done an outstanding job since taking the Brighton & Hove Albion job in 2014. But the 59-year-old finds himself in a fairly unusual position right now – needing to stop the rot at the Amex Stadium.

While their struggle for goals this season isn’t new, their defensive frailties definitely are. The Seagulls have shipped at least two goals in each of their last four games, and need to tighten up against West Ham United tonight.

Now winless in six games in all competitions, they sit just three points above the relegation zone. Brighton are 31/20 for a much-needed win over the Irons.
