Premier League preview: Can Tottenham continue title march against rivals Arsenal?

We take a look at the weekend’s biggest games

All eyes will be on North London this weekend as Premier League leaders Tottenham host neighbours Arsenal.

2,000 lucky Spurs fans will have the pleasure of seeing their side for the first time since March and they couldn’t have picked a more exciting time to return.

Tottenham are currently top of the pile but it remains to be seen whether they can hold their nerve against their fiercest rivals – and they may have to do it without their star striker.

Meanwhile, Liverpool entertain Wolves and Chelsea take on Leeds. Ahead of the action, we’ve taken a closer look at the key games to look forward to.

Tottenham v Arsenal (Sunday, 16:30)

The season may only be 10 games old but Jose Mourinho looks to be working his magic once again, with Tottenham currently top of the Premier League.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have been more prolific than ever up top and Spurs have survived tough tests in recent weeks, beating Manchester City and sharing a goalless draw with Chelsea.

Tottenham fans will be dreaming of finally claiming a league title but despite their early-season success, they remain third-favourites to win the league, level with Chelsea at 11/2.

And while Arsenal’s Premier League performances have flattered to deceive of late, the formbook tends to be ripped up on occasions like this.

Spurs face a nervous wait to see if Kane will be available after the England captain picked up a knock this week.

The hosts are still favourites to win at Evens, with Arsenal going at 29/10. The draw can be backed at 5/2.

Should Kane miss out, Gareth Bale could be in line for just his second Premier League start since re-joining the club.

The Welshman is 5/1 to open the scoring, while Arsenal’s likeliest hero will be Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who can be backed at 15/8 to net anytime.

Liverpool v Wolves (Sunday, 19:15)

Despite their injury woes, Liverpool remain level on points with Spurs and they would’ve been top had they not conceded a late penalty in their last outing against Brighton.

They come up against an inconsistent Wolves side, who won at Arsenal last time out but haven’t looked as threatening going forward since Liverpool snapped up Diogo Jota during the transfer window.

The Portuguese star has surpassed expectations since moving to Anfield, scoring nine times so far in all competitions and forcing his way into what previously looked like an undroppable Liverpool front three.

Jota is priced at 11/8 to score against his former side, who will be without Raul Jimenez after he suffered a fractured skull against Arsenal. Summer signing Fabio Silva could start in his place and the youngster is 15/2 to open the scoring.

In the match betting, Liverpool remain odds-on to win at 8/15, despite still being without Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

Wolves will be looking to take advantage of a makeshift defence and they’re priced at 11/2 to snatch all three points, while the draw is 13/4.

Chelsea v Leeds (Saturday, 20:00)

Having joined Chelsea as a teenager, Patrick Bamford harboured dreams of breaking into the first team, leading the line and winning trophies with the Blues.

But after six loan spells away and a grand total of zero first-team appearances at Stamford Bridge, the striker found himself sold back to the Championship, with critics suggesting he was back at his level.

Yet three years later, the 27-year-old has seven Premier League goals in 10 games for Leeds and this weekend he’s got the chance to show Chelsea what they missed out on.

Frank Lampard’s side are understandably the odds-on favourites to triumph at 8/15, having sharpened up defensively this season, and they’re just two points off the top of the table.

Yet Leeds are fearless under Marcelo Bielsa and having already taken points off Manchester City and Arsenal this term, as well as masterminding a win at Everton last weekend, they’ll fancy their chances of another upset here.

The Yorkshire outfit are 5/1 to win at Stamford Bridge, with the draw priced at 7/2. Bamford will likely be involved in any attacking returns Leeds produce and he’s going at 15/8 to score anytime or 11/2 to bag first.

For Chelsea, Timo Werner is slowly starting to hit form and the German is 5/1 to score two or more.
